REFLECTIONS - JOURNAL ENTRIES
WEEK 9 - WEEK 10
At the beginning of week 9, I was briefed about my new engagement that would be starting very soon. So there were many preparations needed for the kick-off meeting. This new project is a study of the effectiveness of the implementation of our National Agendas and to recommend new ways and measure to elevate the positions of Bumiputera in Malaysia.
These two weeks were filled with meetings and data compiling and my responsibility in every meeting is to take notes and write meeting minutes which is basically what I did during my whole internship period last year. Therefore, I am not new to writing minutes but this time round I was not being guided as much as my seniors we much busier now, so basically the minutes are very much depended on my own understanding in the meeting. This project is under the S&O team where the Executive Director, Puan Anira pays a lot attention on the details in the minutes which means I have to be more alert during meetings and note down every single thing so that the minutes can be as detailed as possible.
Another task that was allocated to me these 2 weeks was to compile data and files given by the seniors in the project. They had to go to the national library to get journals and articles that can be used as reference in this study. After filtering useful sources, they would pass me the title of their articles/ journals and I would need to find the for authors and year of publication. Then after getting the information, I am required to sort the data according to the different study areas of the articles/ journals.
Note to self: To not question your small contribution to the team because everyone in a team is as important to one another.
