Looking back, its funny how making a wrong choice can lead me to somewhere else so different than how it is now. If I was actually too afraid to try a new stream and continued going into science stream (which was what I did in highschool), I would probably be doing experiments (which I hated a lot) in the university's science lab for the past 3 months rather than an internship in KPMG. I never would have thought I would do finance and economics as I was not exposed to any of these 2 subjects during my highschool.

 

I conducted my recent internship in KPMG Malaysia. KPMG is a professional firm which provides services such as Audit, Tax and Advisory to clients. With more than 155,000 professionals in 155 countries worldwide, KPMG is one of the Big Four’s four lettered firms. I was honored to be attached with KPMG Advisory under Management Consulting.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I strongly agree that internship should be encouraged among students as it provides experience to students which we will not be able to get after graduation. It also gives us the chance to know what it feels like to work in the corporate world while enabling us to try out firms/ industries that we thought is suitable for us. After the internship we would then have a better understanding of the functions and job scope of the industry and know if the industry is really suitable for us.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

During the internship period, I was assigned to a few different task such as desktop research, presentations, presentation slides and proposal writing where I get to work with many different people with different expectattions. I am very thankful to be placed under a very helpful and informative supervisor and seniors that has guided me throughout this internship.
