Before my allocated project starts, I was given the opportunity to work for a few projects with many different tasks. I did general administrative work such as binding, printing, filing and etc. Then I was also involved in translating reports, data entry, research on taxes, presentation preparation and proposal writing. On top of that, I was given the chance to work with many different employees because different task were handled/ overseen by different people. One thing I learn from here is to adapt to changes quickly and how different people has different expectation to the task they give. One common important value that i think generally everyone should have is to ask questions when we are unsure of our task and to ask for help when we really can't do it rather than giving a piece of with no quality.

My allocated project only started in March which means I was only involved in it for 3 to 4 weeks. This project is basically a study of the effectiveness of the implemented National Agenda to strengthen the position of Bumiputera in Malaysia and to give recommendations from their findings. Because I had not much time left to work on this project I was given more research and data compiling job. Before I leave, I was asked to do a presentation on a given topic which they may also make use of some of my findings on their report.

As a conclusion, my job was very diversed until my project started. During this whole internship period, I spent my time most on doing desktop research especially towards the end of my internship when I had to prepare for my presentation, I was given the flexibility to choose the topic I want to present from a certain guideline and all findings are my responsibility. I was given a lot of freedom on how I manage my work, because in BPS we do practice flexibility to promote higher productivity.

My roles and responsibilities as a Vacation Trainee (VT, also known as intern) in KPMG are to support my team in delivering a project to our client on time. However, my allocated project started only in March. Therefore, I was a VT working for all projects that were under the supervision of my allocated supervisor/ manager, Puan Farahzatul Amer Hamzah.

Basically I there are a few associated working under her and I was told to help any one of them who needed help for the time being under the new project starts.
